Right.

A friend and myself are converting a 1984 'B' 1.2 Carb 4-spd Nova to X18XE1 Power.

The reasons?

- Small Block is preferential
- He has a FULL 1999/2000 Vectra SRi 120 to get the Engine and whatever he needs from
- He is getting the required bits from said Vectra for the princely sum of £0.00 - and thats for EVERYTHING to do with the engine. (Jammy fucker)

So, we are looking to remove the Engine, Gearbox, Looms, Radiator, Driveshafts, Instrument Cluster, ECU/Keys/Transpoder and other ancillaries, this weekend.

What else will we need to remove that I may have missed?

Also. And this is the main question. What will we need to do to fit it all into the Nova at the end?

Would following Daveys thread be of much use?

Is there anything the X18XE1 dudes could enlighten us on?

Our main downfall is likely to be the Electrical side, but i'm fairly happy with Haynes Wiring Diagrams etc, but sometimes experience is better than just following what the Haynes says.

Oh, and cheers in advance.

No immobiliser on the Nova.

Will that be an issue if the keys, barrel surround and ecu are all from the Vectra?

It's got corsa EPAS so the chip can stay in the keys and the chip reader will fit as normal, just wondering really how hard it's going to be to wire that stuff up..

Its all very simple if you have basic electronics knowledge.

If you are putting it into the 1.2 8v I can make you plug and play loom if you provide me with the orginal 1.2 engine loom and a length of the X18XE1 ECU loom.

Really?? That would be super..I'll get it all stripped out and then find out what you'll want and get it sorted...Gotta say I like this site already..

1 thing to bear in mind, is that mine is carb not spi, still doable?

With the 1.8?? You need the chip from the key, the box from around the steering column and as much of the loom from the ECU backwards as you can get.

It works just fine.. Its just got to be in the right place. Its got to be on the face of the ring not on the inside of it.
