hi ive recently started to have alot of problems with my 1.6 16v sport. its recently started an intimitnt nocking from the enigne when cold and more and more white smoke is coming form the exhaust each day. its loosing coolant and power.
the headgasket has been done once with new bolts seals gaskets and the head was skimed and the block cleaned properly so im starting think the engine has about had it and its only on 70k miles.
how cheap would it be get a reconed engine with warrenty??? and jsut swap them stright over

Quite hard to get a warrenty unless vaux id imagine. If i was 2 rebuild urs from you saying it has a knock, ud be lookin about 700 or so. With al new parts, crank grind, pistons etc

my gf got one for her tigra from vauxhall and it cost a bomb think it woz about £1500 just 4 the engine and thats woz fully reconed

they charge a fortune though. i got a price for £200 ech for a c16xe piston!
if serious about a reconned engine drop me a u2u. ill price one up.

looks like that option has gone out the window then. lol. ill have just take it down the garage and if its something bad ill have to get rid.

i buy a used engine in very good condition with gear and all sub part with warranty 2 weeks about 400$

sounsd like a big end is going mate, exactly the same happened to mine, go and see if its not too late, if not go on ebay or call around scrappys asking for replacements, then go to garages and ask about a price for the direct swap, i found an engine for 150 and the conversion was 300£ from a local garage, but as i said go to them and ask face to face, i know garages round my way are very different over the phone to how they are in the flesh!
Oh is your car drinking oil aswell?

yeah thats what i was thinking of doing. i dnt know if its drinking oil as it had an oil leak before and it has got well too much in now as i added some more when it was nocking and now there is too much in.
ill have get it booked in down the garage.
