Hello all,

Please can you help as my friend has a bit of a dilema?

Their Corsa D battery went flat over the weekend, so the battery was charged (unfortunately whilst on the car) now after doing this the car still does not start.

The battery was removed and charged correctly overnight to hopefully rectify this problem, however when the battery went back in the car and an attempt was made to start it, the car now makes a whining noise, but will not start?
The ECU has been reset (battery removed and re connected) any thoughts on what we can try next?

Many thanks to any one who can help in advance
J

What lights to do you get on the dash when the ignition is switched on?

You 100% sure someone didnt connect the charger round the wrong way and fuck the ECU?

Hi Dave, I just checked with them and the charger was connected all correctly.

The lights on the dash as far as they can remember is the car and spanner, and the battery light flashing.

Battery may be goosed and holding no charge, have you tried jump starting the car or trying a different battery?

I will find out, if I get them to jump it (could pop round on the way home) would this start the car even if the battery is screwed?

Who's got the car? first thing to do is test the battery during cranking.

Is the car and spanner light flashing or just the battery light? If the spanner light is flashing it will probably mean the immoboliser is not recognising the key.

Is there not a seperate ECU light on the new corsa?
