Hi all, I'm fitting a power box this weekend, and I'm blanking off the EGR valve at the same time. I went to Vauxhall and asked for a blanking plate for the x14xe.

He said that they only had one for the x16xel, but would be the same..

Anyway. Just wondering, there is still one hole in the plate, as opposed to the two holes on a proper gasket.

On Warren's tutorial.. http://corsasport.co.uk/board/viewthread.php?tid=484749 he just makes a solid one??

What's the difference?

My Dad has made a solid one to go in instead like, but I'm just curious as to what the single hole is for please?

This is the one from Vauxhall and the one my Dad made me..

Cheers.

Just put your dads on and take the other one back

No one else is running one with a hole.

Ok lads cheers. God knows then, he said it was a blanking plate, but for an x16xel. Would have thought they were the same tbh.

They supply one with a Hole as a few of the EGR Valves still have to have an internal solenoid/piston operational to prevent EML Issues

What the Vauxhall gasket you have posted does, is allow that Piston to move still, but blanks off the Exhaust Gas entry point.

Can't remember which engines use this type of Valve though - the shape of the valve is the same throughout, so it maybe that they have just done some cross referencing using a part description.
