Just having a poke around my corsa 1.2 8v ready for its mot tomorrow. Its been sat for a few days and i took it out round the block just to make sure it was running okay as its going in at 9am tomorrow. Wanted to make sure it was running fine as it was idling rough for a while until the other day when i gave the ICV a clean, seems a lot better now. Anyway after i got back my brother sat in the car and turned the ignition and i was around that back of the car. Noticed small bursts of flames popping out the exhaust seemed to stop after a a bit. Its a totally standard exhaust system so i was just wondering is this normal was it just a bit of unburned fuel? Or do I have a problem?

It is most likely unburned fuel, whether or not you have a problem is completely different.
Check your air filter and make sure its clear as could be overfueling slightly although if you had it on idle then it might have built up slightly so could be nothing to worry about. Take it for a drive and see what its like afterwards.

Well i asked my brother to give it some revs and it did it more then but after a few seconds it stopped doing it. Ill give the filter a clean as well, cant hurt. Any tips on the best way to clean it?
