Hi all, ive joined on here as im looking to get on with a corsa XE... Im not a newbee to engine conversions as im on PNG, after doing 2 XE engined nova's, and a c20XE powered fiat seicento (which im a bit more known for)....
However, fitting an XE into a corsa has been something ive wanted to do for a while, so now im looking around for a decent shell....
Ive already got the engine, which i will start to strip, clean and rebuild this week (as im off from work), and have coilovers, 300mm brake set up, shafts, hubs etc..
The only things im confused about when reading is the issue with some corsas using another mount at the front depending what shell is being used. Does anyone have any info / pictures and advice of where to get one if needed?
Also, why is there no welding covered in the guide, where are the welding points on this car to strengthen the shell up, or dont people seem to bother with the corsa...
Finally are there any other body work modifications for the corsa engine bay needed, like bits cut/bent on the nova to stop the alternator catching etc...
Cheers all

no need to do any welding with the xe engine. what gearbox you using as this will alter the mounts.
with the alternator you can either bash in where it would catch or run a v pully set up

Cheers, just had a look at the engine and its an early XE, which looks to be running the V belt/pully set up... so it looks to be fairly straight forward to swap... which is nice, Cheers for advice robo!

What engine was in it originaly? As the engine mount itself on the chassis leg im sure is slightly different.
You may have to cut bulkhead depending if use powercap or ecotec pipe

back mount is standard corsa one. If you use back spacer need to lengthen linkage. If you dont standard linkage works fine.

Also, having an issue with the brakes, i have 300mm disks and calipers, yet the caliper seals around the pistons need replacing... anyone know where i can get a rebuild kit, and how i can tell what my calipers are off?
