yeah i did the same at download, set of jbl on tours with few sets of batteries on full volume batteries only last 2 - 3 hours and wasnt to loud tbh

Only other option I can think of is the hobbyist audio scene.

I bet there would be a suitable amp that ran off 5 or 12v that somebody has built for a few quid, loads of stuff like that on the internet.

If the headunit does the same job within consumption specs though it's a much easier option.

Why don't you get a DVM, stick it in line with the 12v feed and measure it properly?

does that stand for digital volt meter?

if it does i already did that using a multimeter (same thing) , stuck it on the circuit and tested for flow/current, hence why i got the ready of 0.5a

Was that with music playing at a fairly loud volume? Would have thought it'd have taken more than 6 watts (give or take)

yeah it was in a series, with music turned fully up it was around 1.9a

You disconnected the power lead, and held 1 on the wire, and 1 on the input to the radio?

Just checking as so many get this wrong
