component will give you 1080i your thinking of composite which will only give 480i or 560i or something like that

Lol im not sure now, the cable has 5 or 6 ends, coloured red, green, yellow etc.
The only reason it is unplyable, is because of the ghosting. If I set the output to SD, it is VERY poor quality. When I set it to 720, the ghosting makes it unplayable. Hope that makes sense?

Yeah I had the option of going to 1080i on my component but my shit TV had a small fit when I went there.

I think it might be your TV.. Mines doesnt have any ghosting at 720p

Yeah it is my TV, I don' think it supports HD through component. Thats why i sent my Hauppauge HD PVR back. The TV is around 2 years old, do you think it is worth getting a new TV, do most new TV support HD tough component?

They should do. They should support 1080i which while not as good as full 1080p through HDMI I doubt it would matter on something like Call of Duty.
