I got a crackin 42" hitachi lcd from argos was reduced from 600 to 390

If you could spare the extra £50 then i would look at the Panasonic G10 - personally i think it's probably the best picture you can get for that size and cost. The only thing that lets it down are the speakers, which are slightly hollow in sound but it's still pretty impressive. Freesat tuner is also built in.
The G15 can also be had for a little bit more, slightly better picture but the ethernet port supports DNLA so you can stream video/music to the display as well as access internet features.
