Went to start my car to go home from work this afternoon, turned the key and nothing, turned again, dashlights illuminated for a split second then went out again, and several attempts before they would stay on and could attempt to start the car. 
Ran fine then, had a look over the car when I got home, maintenance free battery - the indicator is still green on that, and no fuses out or anything. Really strange, any ideas?

check the connections on the altonator or check your ignition leads/coil pack

hmmm will do, forgot to mention, the car forgot the automatic window settings (like when you disconnect the battery and have to reprogram) and the radio didn't know the presets, then suddenly it remembered them

started up fine again when I went to tesco's tonight, really strange
