Am i right in saying that when you ask for a MAC code to leave you ISP you are entitled to get it there and then? Not in X working days??

Not there and then, most companies feel 5 working days is acceptable, however I kicked up shit with pipex a few months back and got a code in about 5 hours however that was a business line.

Bugger they are right!

Ofcom web site....

Under Ofcom regulations, where a consumer or small business (with 10 or fewer employees) wishes to change broadband provider, a MAC must be issued within 5 working days of request. Companies must also offer at least two methods of providing a MAC (by email, phone or post etc).

Yes but twiggy, that is it must be issued within 5 days, doesn't mean you can't get it sooner if you chase them
