The laptop's recently ended up taking about 5 seconds to close internet pages, both tabs and windows but no other aspects of speed are affected.

I had a virus not long ago but everything ended up fine from it, although the AVG 'threat detected' window did pop up just before this happened - I ended up doing a scan but it brought up no results. I've got MBAM and AVG installed (not sure if they are the same thing, but I was rightfully advised to get MBAM when everything went tits up.)

If anyone's got any ideas it'd be appreciated.

CPU usage hovering around 55-60%

Memory about 940MB

That's from going into 'performance' are those the right figures?

I could put up with it but it's annoying as fuck, videos keep playing when you've closed a youtube window and stuff, it just makes it feel slow.

Is there something like deleting cookies you can do to help this sort of thing or am I getting mixed up?

I've got FF, prefer interenet explorer though.

I just cleared all my history (cookies, add ons etc) and it's back to normal since.

Thanks for the help.
