Are there any good sites to use for getting numbers of local taxi firms, and for navigation?

My phone has GPS (Nokia 5800), could I somehow use that with Google Maps for directions?

If your browser is HTML5 then it can use your GPS location, otherwise Google will figure your location out using you IP address. On my phone I get a list of local services when I search for something on Google, much like you do when you search on your PC now. Can't help you with navigation though.

I've installed Opera on it a while back, not sure if it's HTML5 or not though?

Yeah I've got Ovi maps but it takes AGES to download map information so wasn't sure if there was anything else like Google Maps that I could use.

Should be, go to Google and see if it asks you if you want to let it know your current location.

Google Navigation is strictly Android as it's in public beta at the moment. It suffers the same issue though, none of the maps are stored on the phone so you're stuffed if you can't get a good 3G connection.

I've just updated Opera Mini to the latest version and updated Google Maps to the latest version, that seems to run quicker (and better) than Ovi Maps.

The Google Maps uses my phone's GPS but obviously downloads maps using WiFi or 3G.

Is the yell app not on the ovi store? I use that on my iPhone and it's spot on, better for finding numbers than yell.com on a pc
