Well, ever since losing my original Iphone when travelling, I've been awaiting the new one's release...
However... Is it really worth it?
A lot of money to buy, then expensive monthly contract over a long period of time, with extra cost for insurance?
... For a product that is basically several years old and as common as muck?
I expected it to be significantly different / better.
The Camera is only margionally better, Turn by turn gps could be good, but useless if battery dies using it...
'faster' iphone, but no details on changes of internals...
Hmm... I'm gonna have to face a tough decision.

As in my other thread, they've presented a load of features that other phones have had for years as being something new, I really don't know why people pay a fortune for them.

It's frigging' expensive; http://shop.o2.co.uk/update/paymonth.html or http://shop.o2.co.uk/update/paygo.html
Too much for what it does IMO; still looking at one of these for my renewal in December though - hopefully they'll have gone down in price by then, but I doubt it.
Also, you pay for the phone, yet the contract is still sky high? (For what you get). For example;
You pay £184.98 for the phone, then £29.38 a month line rental for 75 minutes, 125 texts and unlimited UK data and Wi-Fi.
75 minutes and 125 texts? Have we gone back to 2004?

That's always been like that though, I think it's just to push people onto the £35 tariff. Saying that, I don't even come close to 300 texts or 500 mins of calls.......

No too impressed as the hardware hasnt changed dramatically and old 3g owners will still be able to get the update and have most of the new features. Ill just buy sim free/PAYG off ebay in a few months.

Yup bloody expensive. When you think they have not changed the price of the 8GB phone on the 18 month contract since release! the 16G S is more than the old 16GB, the 32GB is now £278 on the cheapest contract. We are a year down the line in a very fast moving technology area.
Not chance to upgrade early other than buy out the contract.
I think they have screwed up with thier pricing this time. Everyone with a 3G will have at least 6 months on thier contract if not a few more, this means you have to buy out 6 months+ of contract which makes the price even more silly money..or wait... and 6 months down the line I would not be buying a phone knowing a new one will be out in 6 months and I will be tied into a another 18 months.
To me the best thing is the 3.0 software which everyone gets. Roll on jailbroken (or even unlocked if they can manage it) 3.0 for me.
Oh and £15pm to turn on tethering...screw that think I will use a jailbreak app for free
If they had priced the 16/32 the same as the current 8/16 I think they would have sold shed loads.....I don't think they will sell shed loads this time round.
