Getting puffs of blueish smoke on start up and when stationary theres lots of exhaust fumes, doesn't look particularly oily, not pure white but excessive to say the least. Been told it's probably a valve stem oil seal. Anyone any other thoughts?
Cheers

if you have a vavle spring compressor and some time you can do it, head will have to come off so not a 2 min job unfortunatly.

If you can take the head off, remove + refit the valves then you'll manage it.

hardest bit is the timing i would say but if you lock them in place proper u should be ok and i would replace the timing belt and tensioner while your at it and also re-seat and grind the valves aswell when i first did my head on first ever corsa it was an sri 16 valve i replaced a knackered valve re seated the rest new stems BUT i didnt re place the belt 2 days later it jumped on the inlet cam and so the pistons destroyed the valves as i was goin motorway speeds at the time of it going and i was told it was because i had disturbed the belt and not replaced it wasnt impressed so i just swapped the engine for a lower milage one easier in my book
