What do you mean? Play a game designed to work on XP on a Vista PC instead?

iirc you need to run in compatibility mode and set it to run as if it's running on XP.

Most of the time it will just work, but if not then set compatibility mode like Rich said.

I've run Windows 98 games on Vista before without using compatibility mode though So give it a try

Dave's right, most will just work without fannying around, otherwise compatability mode as said. I've struggled with games like Theme Park in the past iirc and had to use DOSbox

The main problem is the movement of AppData and and other system folders. Idiot programmers who use absolute paths and not environment variables!

Yup that worked cheers.

But when i try run the game (The Sims 2) on XP i get an error message poping up saying:

Failed to find any DirectX 9.0c compatible graphics adapters in this system! Please make sure you have DirectX 9.0c compatiable graphics adapter and have installed the latest drivers provided by the manufacturer. The application will now terminate.

Common sense tells me that would be a graphics card anyone confirm this? If so is there any decent but cheap ones on the market?

Thank you again.
