Tried just about every link on google and nothing works. Need either a player or a convertor for this file type that will actually work and not come up with a blank or multi-coloured screen.
I think it's a company specific file extension by the looks of things but I can't use torrents to get the software as I'm on the works computer.
Any ideas?

have you tried renaming the file to avi or mpg?
found a site that linked to here for a player:
http://www.dvr365.com/docs/support/software.html
or this one is meant to be better:
http://www.ziddu.com/download/8977010/DVAPlayer.rar.html

First one comes up a pink screen, second link stopped by the firewall.
I'll have a bash at re-naming. Cheers.

If you install FFMPEG then I believe the command would be something like this:
c:/ffmpeg/ffmpeg.exe -i c:/myfile.dav
That should bring up all the info about the file on screen - certainly works on Linux.

It's from a DVR system, if he can get the files to me/access to the computer it's running on I'll have a go at sorting something out.
