mine need replacing make a horrible knocking noise at full lock how much are the is it ok to by second hand ones and is it a ob i cold do my self as i have access to a ramp and a few people at college can advise me if i was to do it myself any ideas cheers

FUSTOPS. FUCK ME 
Right, it's your CV joints that are worn, not the actual shafts. But it may be easier, less time consuming & cheaper to replace the whole shaft.
You can put 2nd shafts in, but u risk them be worn too, so may start clicking 5 miles down the road.
Easy enough job. Just unbolt bottom ball joint and drive shaft nut so you'll be able to move the hub out of the way enough to bang the CV joint out of the hub. When the drive shaft is free bang the CV joint away from the gearbox to remove the shaft out of the box. Put a catch tray underneath the gearbox to catch the oil

haha yeh half the reason i failed english ................................ that should make up for the ones i missed and a few ,,,,,,,, ''''''''' happy anyway i still need help with the driveshafts lol. <--- bout the only place i put em haha occasionally

not stuck i was just wondering how hard it would be to do my self or am i better off going to garage and is it worth buying new rather than second hand ill prob give it a go myself if i fuck up off to the garage it goes

in my opinion sean id rather fit 2 new CV joints rather than buying 2nd hand full shafts and then somewhere down the line those doing the same
take it to a garage and get a qoute for 2 new outer CV joints fitted, or even source the outer CV joints yourself and get a qoute for how much fitted ?
