its noticable on non full LED units, its the framed LED units which suffer the white patching in dark scenes

I'd say LED beats both if you can stretch to one ofthose. Friend of mine just got a samsung 40" led and it looks so much better than my samsung lcd

It's not LED, it's an LCD with LED back lighting instead of CCFL.

choice has got to be dependent on size and budget imo i would say small screen then lcd or big screen 60" etc then plasma

whether or not its true or not the general consensus of buyers is that Sony/Panasonic/Pioneer are more of a premium brand over the likes of samsung and LG etc
