Says to change the password you need to sign in to the hotmail account you used to set it up .. trouble is i cant sign in as apparently my hotmail ID/account is incorrect?

If you're using the console you signed up with then you just have to change your password. I got a confirmation email after so no issue. You don't even have to put your old password in if you have the console set to remember it.

It briefly told me to change the password, but wouldn't let me.

Its gone back to "PSN is currently undergoing maintenance"

people that have to change there password through email its because your using a different ps3 than the one you created your account on, dumb i know but its for "security reasons" pretty stupid as they dont send the email straight away... ive been waiting 4 hours now still no email...

i am on a dif ps3 from my first and it let me change my PW right away, i think it was becaue as Daveskater said an i kept it auto logged in so i just had to enter a new PW and i was away
