What furniture does everyone have?
So far I've ordered a gloss black TV stand. I'm thinking about getting a gloss black coffee table and gloss black DVD cabinet but wasn't sure if it would be gloss black overkill.
I have cream carpet and a brown leather sofa with magnolia walls so far.

I'm going down a similar route, I think the gloss/piano black furniture looks good and I quite like the idea of keeping it uniform.
I've got black and grey sofa, black and silver tv stand etc and throwing a bit of red into the mix to brighten it up.
I'm hopefully going to get like the Next opus black stuff on this page:

That's the exact range I had in mind. The coffee table and DVD cabinet.
This is the TV stand I've got:

I was also thinking about throwing some red, probably on the curtains and cushions maybe. And then some nice canvas prints too.

black great but shows every mark and scratch
I have gloss back TV stand to match the TV but then white coffee tables and side unit sin a gloss finish
For that stand I think you need more shelving space - I have bluray, Denon Amp, Sky HD, Harddrive unit etc and it takes alot of space
I have a red chimney breast and incoprpated red into the curtains and also a red rug with cream walls
Black red and White goes really well

I have a slim AV receiver, PS3, Wii and PVR. I think it should have enough space for that.

That stand is cool I like red and black, looks good
I fancy the low coffee table (the one that opens), the 'double media cabinet' (DVD) and the low sideboard. That would cost nearly £600 though
I have a bog standard TV stand that I will probably upgrade at some point: http://www.richersounds.com/product/tv-stands-hi-fi-racks/tvs/tvs42/tvs-st42b3cm

Sorry, my response came across a bit stroppy
It was partly a question, do you think I will be ok with that stand? It hasn't arrived yet so I don't know....

I looked at the low coffee table instore last night, it does look cool but I thought it was a bit too low so I will probably go for the normal coffee table in the same range. And I don't really need the storage as all my DVDs will be in the cabinet, maybe for magazines/remote controls though I guess.

I'm genuinely considering having a 748 Ducati in my living room behind the sofa; only issue is that I haven't built my living room yet

Yeah, I just like the idea of being able to thrown magazines in their to tidy them away, not seen it in person, it does look low though...

no worries mate
i am sure you will be fine but it just depends on your kit
I have a Denon 2807 AMp and its huge so that and sky HD takes up one shelf and then my blu ray and HDD take up another but the shelves on yours dont look as high
Looks very nice though. If I didnt have the amp then I owuld need less space

I'm custom building most of my stuff around the TV.
Brown leather sofas, cream carpet, pretty much white walls except chimney stack.
Custom built stud partition to run cabling painted brown same as chimney, with a gloss red shelf below, and a gloss white box for holding freesat/media boxes. All sat on a piece of dark granite/marble.

i used to have gloss black furniture in my old house but you had to polish it every day as every bit of dust shows up.
i currently have oak furniture with beige carpet, malt chocolate walls with a feature wall (duck egg, brown, cream) and dark brown sofa's.

I've gone for a few black/brown bits from ikea, mainly for price, I think the coffee table was 20 odd quid or something similiar and it is quite big. Need a tv stand though still.

We raided Ikea for a TV/Storage unit that takes up one wall, then just 2 sofas around the back and left side, right side is patio windows, rest of the room is open.
http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/S19895301
Essentially went for that, but with cupboard doors in the corners only. Only down side is we probably can't get more than a 42" TV in the gap
