went to change bulbs in mfd earlier. seen the eml light flashing on the dash. tried to kick the car over no joy. noticed my keys battered and heard it might be something to do with. anyone shed any light on this? 98 corsa sport 1600 incase it helps. cheers

ive only got one and its kicked to fuck in a nut shell. its got the chip in as far as i can see but the keys sat next to me in a few bits. its trying to turn over but obviously with the immobiliser bein gay im getting no fuel pump prime etc

Mine did this when I chucked my keys in temper and split my car key in half pal I lost the little chip in the key and did exactly what yours is doing just flashing the eml light luckily I went in the house and found it double check ya key make sure its definatly in there!!!!

cheers for the reply evo ive deffo got the chip tho im startin to think its not the key. noticed last night that even when the keys out etc the dash lights are on and i can use the leccy windows. all this coz i wanted to change a couple of fuckin lights in the mfd. reckon i could of damaged an earth or caused a short?

the chip doesnt need to be in the key it jus has to be near the ignition ring for the car to start, resetting the ecu might help if it has recorded a problem.

reet lads cheers for the replys. got her sorted.....absolutely fuck knows how but shes alive. deffo a loose wire or dodgy earth somewhere but shes a runner. dash is back together n im not touchin a single fuckin thing in there ever again lmao
