Basicly i fixed the ICV the other day because it was jumpping everywhere and not idling correctly, i fixed and reset ECU and it seemed great to get round town runs soooo much better but went up to thorpe park and then i hit a problem.

the car seems to get to about 3500 revs then feels as if it drops back about 65-70mph normally happens. it feels as if the car pulles back and it sturuggling to move along.

if you stop accelarating then revs drop its fine until you hit it again.

everytime this happens the EML comes on then when it feels fine goes off so its only happening at high speeds and revs.

please help... sorry if it hard to understand its hard to describe it.

Basicly its (Fine----- speed up on motorway----- Pulls back and struggles with EML on---- slow down ----- EML goes off and cars fine..

thanks.

If its the EGR valve it will like 'cough' and run really lumpy. If you dont rev the car then it will just stall.

If you unsure, get a EGR blanking plate off ebay or make your own and blank it off to see how it runs. Depending what engine you have it can be arkward to get to but its cheaper than buying a new AFM.

get a code reader on it if your really not sure.

ive seen this fault a few times now though.

afm tells ecu how much air is coming in, works out how much fuel is going to be needed for mixture ( aswell as taking readings from other sensors ) afm fails at set limit, incorect fuel/air mixture = no power
