not 100% sure mate. after a lot of fuck on, paper clips test... eobd machine...(still no fault codes came up) various bits of the engine out, fuel pump in pieces.... I THINK it was a dodgey connector on the fuel pump... its running now and double checked everything with the machine...
just need to put battery tray back in and this seal wich seems like a bit of a bitch

the bottom cream bit twists in on the inside of the tank, and the top has 2 little tabs popping out, they line up with the edge of the tank, you will see it

there should be a thin metal ring that detaches all together, thats to go on last to hold the whole thing in place,

the rubber one underneath? that also seems like its in good condition..
when refitting it all am i to be putting that rubber one on the top part or on the bottom (shell of car)??
i checked and double checked im putting it all back together as it came apart but its as if it need compressed down about 1cm before turning the metal silver one

put the rubber bit underneath the metal bit you cant get down? and put the lid down, try hold down and use hammer and screw driver to chap the metal ring on, works wonders mate

Might look OK but if it's expanded it won't fit.
I'm guessing but that would be something to check. Same as an oil filter on a C, you can't use the old O ring because it goes massive when you take it off.
