The Timing belt has snapped on my X20XEV and at least 2 valves are bent. I need to get the lot out as going to get the head acid dipped. So I need a Valve Spring Compressor that'll work on my 16v head...

I've found these lot on ebay.

I'm not bothered about the price too much. I do like the thought of the "wind it in" of the last link as I hate these when the bounce off!

That first sealey one, that's the design to go for.

Why are you getting the head acid dipped? Only thing is it won't get it any cleaner than it needs to be, just an ordinary wash with thinners or turps etc. would be enough and I imagine it's going to cost money? Just in case someone's told you you NEED it done

It's more, "I'd like it done". It's caked in thick old sediment and it's only costing £10, so not bank busting.

So you're saying the 1st one? Why?

Are you likely to use the valve compressor again? As it will only be a few £ to have the valves replaced at a engineers shop and they'll whack it in the arts washer for nothing.

I've got another 2 heads (from a Z14XE engine) that I also want to do and thinking about doing an exchange, new for old on them.

They'll charge £40 for that service that you mentioned before.
