My Xbox used to do this so I replaced the laser. Problem solved

I got the laser replaced on my 360 DVD drive when it was dying, now it plays any discs whether they are brand new or used/scratched etc.
This is the guy I used, super quick turnaround time (he literally changed it the same day he received it and sent it back out the same day too)!

I think it cost me £30 from what I remember, much cheaper than the £70+ that Microsoft wanted.
Bear in mind though that you have to be confident enough to take your 360 to bits to remove the DVD drive.

Cost me £7 for the laser and I replaced it myself. Its easy, I wouldn't spend £30 on having it done.

I CBA fucking about with lasers and potentially breaking my DVD drive, so I thought I'd have it done properly by someone that does this day in day out. £30 isn't exactly a large sum of money TBH.

No, its not but still. I wouldn't personally pay that much for something so easy is all.

For saving £20 I couldn't be arsed. I'd get someone to do it, good as new.
I would only DIY if it saves £100 or more imo. (Did it when I smashed my phone screen).

The guy I use also offers a 3 month warranty on his work as well, he's also highly recommended by loads of people online and offline.
It was either him, or the shitty looking "PC Shack" shop on Brierley Hill High Street which was manned by a 15 year old Harry Potter lookalike sporting a black leather jacket and with who I assumed to be his dad sitting out the back smoking a fag.
