Anybody going to be buying this?
I loved the 2nd one but feels like such a long time since I finished it. Downloaded some DLC but never got round to playing it.
still got my hands full with Skyrim at the moment though.
Apparantly you can use Kinect on this? Gimmick or worthwhile added functionality?

Do you need to have played the first to play the 2nd?
I'm tempted to get the 2nd as I remember watching my flat mate play it and it looked great (considering I like those sort of games)

You dont have to play them in order but if you do you get to import your character throughout the series.
Thus I am playing with the Shepard that I had from ME1.
Your actions do have an impact on the overall Story though. IIRC during the intro you can make some conversation choices to act as a back fill for previous story (that you did not play through).

I completed ME2 just a few weeks ago. I'd like to go back to a save before starting the final mission so I can work more on my squad missions and side stories before completing it again, and exporting my Shepard to ME3.
Should also mean ME3 comes down in price a little before I buy it

Just played the demo... Never played a ME game before but might be worth a try when it comes out

Apparantly there are 1000 variables from the first 2 games that will influence the way the final chapter plays out on ME3, pretty cool IMHO.
I just fired up ME2 for the first time in over a year to do the DLC, cant remember the fucking controls

Sorry Sunz, no idea on PC.
Anyone else dribbling pre-cum over this yet?
the DLC 'Arrival' is meant to bridge the story between 2 and 3. Going to try and finish that this Week

Hmm that is a bit of a bugger, it is an epic triology. All your actions from the first 2 games determines how the story pans out as well. Who lives and who dies etc.
Although reading some reviews they say it is possible for someone new to the franchise just to dive straight in.
If i were you though I would be ME1 for a fiver, ME2 for £15 and lose 60 hours of your life then go for ME 3.
Its worth it mate

Seriously do all 3!
Definately one of the best gaming experiences I have had, up there with the Half Life Series, possibly better.

Been watching walk throughs on YouTube looks epic
There seems to be choices in the dialog for people that havnt played the previous games which helps you understand things ect
Shall be buying this later on in the week

Hmm I think you should at least play through ME2. At the start of that there are dialogue options to cover the first game. ME2 is pretty epic in itself and will set you up nicely for ME3.
If you go straight for 3 then you are depriving yourself!!

Finished it a week or so ago and the ending is a massive let down, already hearing rumours of a new ending being released as dlc

Yep I was gutted, it was like all your choices had counted for fuck all.
Also the they create synthetics to wipe us out before we create synthetics to wipe us out just made no friggin sense, WTF!!?
Be interesting to see what happens with any DLC.
The noise on the interwebz about this is massive.

I wouldn't put it past EA to have deliberately fucked up the ending to create this buzz on the internet to stir up interest in future DLC for the game.
I can see it now 'The ending that you all wanted only 800 MS points!'

Yep, agree.
Did you get the from ashes DLC and the protheon squad member?
I did not myself but seems like he is pretty core to the game! Thus without that DLC you miss a lot of back story etc.
Fuck knows why he wasnt in the retail game..... oh wait

I didn't succumb to the curiosity of the Ashes DLC at first however I'm currently replaying with it installed and so far it has been the biggest waste of money ever, unless the character becomes more involved later on I'll be seriously pissed!
