Hi guys.

I've been thinking for a while to get a corsa c 1.8 rear beam to fit to the car as it has the disks on it ready.

I've seen that some people say they wont fit.

I found this on ebay last night: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CORSA-C-AND-B-SRI-1-8-C20XE-REAR-AXLE-BEAM-Compleate-Custom-Rear-Shocks?item=140721318231&cmd=ViewItem&_trksid=p5197.m7&_trkparms=algo%3DLVI%26itu%3DUCI%26otn%3D5%26po%3DLVI%26ps%3D63%26clkid%3D7063283904991915124

It's obviously on a B in the picture and from the description it would fit one.

I'm looking to build my own one in the future does anyone have a clue what makes them different or what I'd have to do to fit it to a B?

I know the shock mounts differently but is the same beam on the lower spec models as a B rear beam, so could I get away with using corsa c 1.8 shocks/coilovers or would that just be one lucky coincidence?

I only said that as I didn't think vaux would go to the hassle of building a different shell purely to fit rear disks? or do the shocks mount differently at the top?
Cheers for any help!

Cheers Fazza, I was reading through this one.

By the sounds of it you have to use C shocks then all is gravy or am I reading that wrong?

On the 'C' beam it hasn't got the 'cup' holder that the handbrake adjuster sits in so you'll have to modify to suit (This is what I've read from other posts)

When changing the beam on my B, i read that a C bolts straight on, just have to enlarge the braket for the flexi pipe to go into?

Side by side photos the beams are identical bar the C having larger bushes.

The 1.8 disk beam is different to the pov spec beam though so mounting the shocks would have to be different?

The bottom of the shocks is different on the c disc beam to the b, they use a bigger bolt.

You would have to use the c disc shocks not the b ones

That's a great guide you have there! That looks like an easy option as well although if I did the c beam I'd be able to get it powerdercoated before it goes on rather than having one off the car and not being able to use it for a while

Cheers for your help!

I've wondered the same thing Darryl after seeing that on eBay. But going by what vauxhead has done that looks to be a great set up and quite easy to do surprised no one else has been doing it that way on here.

Get a guide up in the tutorial section

Edit, vauxhead not bay head... Bloody iPhone lol
