I have a little project at work,

which involves writing a new configuration for a tracking unit and pointing it at a server

It all seems to be working from my end but the server isn't receiving any messages from the device..

After asking the suppliers of the device they said the server MUST respond with an ACK? WTF is an ACK?

Our Protocol Doc, is attached; Type 2 is the message most commonly sent.
Your server MUST respond with an Ack else the LMU will simply log messages.

thanks in advance

ACK= Acknowledgement.
