Hi. I'm new to vaux 16v lumps and am unsure about ECUs.

So would a superchip from a x16xe fit a c16xe? and the other way round?

If it does, will the chip profile be the same, or is the chip tailored for each engine?

If they are different - are there any benefits to using the wrong chip on either engine?

Thanks for your help.

Don't think they would work on each other as the c uses an air flow meter and the x a map sensor!
My x16xe hasn't even got a replacable eeprom(superchip bit)

Wolf what reg/year is your car cos ive got a late gsi on a N-reg and that as a replacable eprom ive had it to well lane and they switched it for my chip with 7k5 rev limiter and phil as wolf said it as to do with the sensors but also the ECU on the x16xe runs faster cos it as to cope with the EGR valve aswell(better economy or something)

Mines on an S-98.
Got a unichip though.
When putting the rev limit unit on friday i noticed there was no replaceable chip.
Think superchips just repragram the original.
EGR valve is a load of ****!
Mines still connected but not functioning, got a swich on me ECU light to turn it off when the ECU notices it aint working!

No probs on yours with the high rev limit?
As scared of hitting 7360rpm(+10%) on mine!
Dont wanna blow it up!

So how have you got it disconnected cos i wouldnt mind doing this also have you got a de-cat or are you still running with it?

The rev limit is poss only there for when i get my throttle bodies I dont actually go that high if im driving hard which is rare I only go to about 5k5 rev at the most. its been on the rollers and peaks at 6241@115bhp thats with standard cams.
