I know that it's fine to connect monitors to a UPS, but is it OK to also connect other low power devices like routers and NAS boxes using something like this:
IEC C14 plug > UK 13A Adapter Lead cable 1G WHITE 50cm
They are much cheaper than the leads from APC which basically do the same thing.

I don't see why not, a NAS will probably consume a lot less power than a monitor. My NAS has a section in it's control interface to monitor and configure a compatible UPS.

As ed says.. some NAS devices allow connection to the UPS for monitoring & can initiate a safe shutdown when running on UPS power. Much better off that way.

tbh, your better of buying one of these and attaching it to a normal 4 gang socket.

Or just plug a 4 gang socket into the original one?
You also get iec to normal plug Powerstrip things. More expensive though.

Just get the male IEC ends, cut the plugs off the existing leads and use them!

Doesn't work if its transformers for routers etc.

Routers and NAS box have transformers so cutting the cable is out of the question.

I was thinking enterprise not home use, we very same setup on a 25k telephone switch as the switch has a bs1363 on it.

Do you often see cables getting cut up and ends stuck on them in enterprise?
