Right, I have got the suspension arm off, compressed the springs and I am now trying to undo the top nut on the piston rod so that I can actually get the spring off the arm.
Thing is the nut doesnt seem to want to budge at all. I have one spanner on the nut and one on the piston rod, turning them oposite ways but still no luck.
Could anyone give me any advice to help me get it off. Consulted the Max Power modding manual and it didnt give much info really on this part of the process.
Kinda in a hurry too as I am working on it in the garage now and I havve left my mate to come and see if anyone could help.
Cheers people,
Sean.

i used a box spanner on the outside nut and had to use a torque wrench on the insiude nut, done up so bloody tight. best off taking the struts somewhere where they have an air gun.

try heating the nut with a blow torch, should expand a little.

already thought about taking it somewhere, nowhere will do it for me because I am lowering myself. what outside nut do you mean matey??
The closest thing I have to a blow torch is a paint stripper heating gun, doubt that would do the trick would it??

there is the nut whcih is if i remember rightly 19mm on top of the strut.
here i used a box spanner to get down as its a couple of cm down and not easy to get to. on the piston rod i used an allen key adapter from a socket set and attached it too a torque wrench. it was done up bloody tight and i got it done after much fing and blinding. didnt use a blow torch just an idea, paint stripper wont be hot enough, no.

Right, well thats what I have been trying essentially with the box spanner and a torque wrench.
Me and my mate are fresh out of ideas, the main problem being we cant take it anywhere else to be undone because the only car we have with us is sat on axle stands with no suspension.

doh. how long are these spanners you have? i used a 1metre long torque wrench and im not the weakest of people and it was still bloody hard to undo. 9 years of corrosion to break though.

Well the spanner is about 20 cm and the torque wrench would be near to a metre.
I just cant get it to budge what so ever, been soaked in WD40 and everything.

worst comes to the worst then break the nut off, you should put a new one on anyway.

YES..........FCUKING YES!!!
Got it off, my mate started attacking the nut with a chisel, then it started twisting and now we have it undone.
I have a new nut for the top, came with the suspension so dont worry about that.
Thanks for all your efforts matey, much appreciated.
