can it be done? any links to equipment needed?

ideally to run off a laptop, so usb / headphone output

You'll need a high output 12v transformer tonpower the amp.

Your looking at fifty quid plus really for decent output

That would work but not at any decent volume. What watt is your amp/sub rated at?

@ rms wattage your drawing nearly 40 amp, your gonna need a hefty transformer to give you that sort of power.

your best bet is to use a 240v amp and use that to power your sub.

I really wouldn't bother, as much as you might think it's cool, you'd be better off with a passive sub and using a designated amp with a crossover, or, replace the amp in your Vibe sub with a 240v amp from a stand alone home cinema sub

EG - I have a KEF PSW1000, buy one and swap the amp over to your Vibe (if it would fit)
