If you pull the hdmi cable out of a device and touch the end. Should you get a small electric shock. Just a mild tingle. Not a jolt.
Something is up here. Every thing is tingly to touch.

Not with HDMI but I've had that before. Is there a sky box in the mix? Sky sends enough voltage out on the feeds to let you know. Another possibility is if you've got a booster in the loft, I've had shocks from them before. I solved by not touching.

I've also had a mild tingling from touching an aerial cable, was only attached to the wall but downstairs we have some strange booster arrangement

I have a foxsat box that I've noticed it on. Might get it out the rubbish and try again.

Was it like putting your tongue on the tip of a 9v battery

Connect everything to a decent extension cable like a belkin smart one and it should resolve your electrifying issue

It's usually a case of poor grounding within a device or extension lead ect.
