found oil on my spark plugs on the metal ring gasket thread side, though doesn't seem to be any on the threads themselves. new plugs only fitted yesterday!
Rocker gasket or
worn rings/valve seals
any ideas?

Outside the engine?
Can only be rocker or something else where the oil has already leaked.
Oil in the chamber wouldn't be on the thread side of the plug.

You sure it's not just dropped down the tubes when filling or from an external oil leak?

I've ordered a new rocker cover gasket and bolts going to change and clean plugs to see if it sorts it, if not I will start worrying about bigger problems

sounds like stem seals and/or rings, wouldn't suprise me on one of these engines tbh...
black plugs can also mean running rich on fuel

ah I wonder if it has anything to do with the car hesitating up to 2k revs when revved on the spot. it revs freely after its been driven for a bit. also I am sure it seems to pull better on 3/4 throttle than it does when you boot it.
