So, i tried to make a phonecall tonight and the other end couldnt hear a thing..
After some tests it seems that the bottom mic is intermittent, if i use voice record and just talk it doesnt pick anything up, if i tap the bottom or blow into it it starts to pick me up ok but then dies to nothing again.
If i call someone and pop it on load speaker, everything works fine.
Anyone have any ideas as to whats going on?

Buggered capsule is the obvious answer 
Either way, just drop it in to Apple and get them to replace it

Should be under warranty still, with it being a 5s?
As Dom says, hand it to Apple, you'll likely get a replacement.
