I've had my window tinting film for months but never had the time to put it on, but now the weather is right I'm going to give it a go.

I've been told it a real arse of a job and i'll never get it perfect, although you can get a good finish if you take the windows out.

I have a 3dr so the front ones aint a proberlem, but the rear ones look to be a bit more tricky basically because the trim goes about half an inch up the the window.

Has anyone attempted to remove and refit the rear windows how hard is it, would i be better trying to tint them without removing them.

Ta!

Yeah i heard it difficult and not worth doin if you can't get the windows out, but if you can get them out its a piece of piss.

Alot of my work mates have done the rear windows on there escort vans, to stop the tea leaf's. But its how to get the rear windows out that the prob.

I attempted this not long ago thinking 'it cant be that hard' but it looked awful. Might as well pay pros to do it.

I am a pro, the film i use and the film you can get are two very different things. I shrink and shape the film using a heat gun on the outside of the window, so it is wrinkle free, then it is transfered to the inside of the glass and flatened down using various specialist tools.
The film you buy from your motor accesorry stores is very thin and scratches like hell.

What about using the pre-cut film? Does that make it any easier and is it better quality?

I saw one of those pro tinting kits with the pre cut film for about £70 on buy it now at ebay. Thought tis was a bit much for to throw down the drain.

Well i'm going to have ago any way as i've got nothing to lose as i have already bought the film.

I'll let you know how it goes and forward any tips or i'll tell you not to bother as it would look better with an old bin bag streeched across it.

Cheers peps.

Me mate worked at tweeks and fitted his own film!
Looks crap now as its all peeled offf!
Had mine done pro!
Watched them shrink it, they just took the strip off on the front windows, no need to take windows out as they have dots round the edge at rear on mine any way.
They use a few nifty little tricks and the finished job shows!
