my g/f's bro is a mechanic and done a full service and clean down on my car at the weekend but reckons the timing is slightly out.
how much will it cost from vauxhall 2 sort it out??
or can n e other garage sort it properly??

yeah it is run shit
he reckons its about 1/2 a tooth out by the sound of it
n e one had vauxhall sort there timing?? how much was it??

If he is a mechanic couldn't he sort the timing out for you.
Surely its a just case of removing the timing belt, Realigning the cams and replacing the belt.

If that was all that was needed your only looking at about 50 bucks at a guess. I suppose vauxhall would do something fancy that would cost an arm and a leg and you'd be no better off.

How can it be half a tooth out?! A tooth isn't a variable amount! You cant adjust where the teeth on the belt are! To do that you vernier pullies.
I had problems with it being done by monkies and 2 different places did it wrongly for me! It was 3 teeth advanced on the inlet and 2 retarded on the exhaust. It ran, wouldn't idle, used loads of fuel and was 20bhp down on what it was after it was fixed.
