Hi again,
Usually when the car is cold (morning) just after starting the engine, I have to press the accelerator a bit to up the revs because the car seems that is going to stall and it sometimes does it when going a very low speed ( i.e cueing at motorways). I think it might be the carburettor, and I heard that you can put something on the fuel tank that it cleans it up, but at the same time I am not sure if this is the problem, it could be a air intake fault. I don’t know, any has got any suggestion?
Thanks guys.

Is your engine modified? Things like camshafts can cause this.

if it is a carb try cleaning out the slow running jet this only the smallest hole in it and cant get blocked very easily. try not to run so low on fuel and shitn from the bottom of the tank will not get dragged to carb

I think you are right about the fuel tank level, this morning it happened “big” time and I was running very low in petrol but at the end the problem could be cause by the carb or something else and to be honest I am not certain of anything. Have you tried the fuel additive to clean the carb?
It could be an air intake problem. I remember in my old nova a I had a selector for cold and hot weather close to the air filter, but I cannot see it in the corsa.

i had the same sort of problem on my corsa, and if you have an air filter it affects the air mass sensor, they cost about £200, best things to do is have an diagnostic test on it mate!

This is very interesting. I have never heard of the 1.4 8v engines on carbs. Was it like that from standard? I know that some very early 1.2 8v's came standard with carb setup because of a lack of engines, so they used nova engines. But never heard of the 1.4 8v on carbs. hmmmm.
