Right ok, ive got myself a problem and i dont know how the hell to solve it. The speedometer has all of a sudden STOPPED WORKING!!! Why has this happened?

my mileage and trip stopped working. speedo was still working. i just banged it a coupla times n it started to work. i think a connection came loose wen i drove fast in a cobbled street !
have u been drivin on cobbled streets?

The cable has most likely come detached somewhere, did this b4 when changing white dials. Had to take the instrument panel out an i pulled the speedo cable to much an it came away from some housing in the engine bay.

Nope, no cobbled streets round my area. God knows how ive managed to do it, lol .

check that your speedo cable hasnt come out from under the bonnet as NMC says.

it goes into the gearbox i think. get a haynes manual and chek. its only a cable. just needs poking into the right hole

Its i bit awkward to get to, believe me i have the cuts. Your best bet is to pull out the grommet in the foot well where it passes through. The get some1 to wiggle it whilst you locate it in the engine bay. By the way you need to be under the car to see/get to it. You wont get to it from above, unless you remove the airbox/feed pipe, exaust manifold...etc etc

Nope, you need 2 hands on it (no pun intended) one to hold the casing bit, one to push the cable through into the casing. I found the best way to get to it is remove the drivers side wheel, as its just through there...hard to explain really.

Sorry, its not difficult to fix once you find the cable in the engine bay. Naturally, if i lived near ya id do it for you...

have u got a garage ella? just put it in there if u have, get ur apron on and ur pink rubber gloves and av a go. u might fix it!
