Was gonna pick it up today and they've just called me sayin my engine management lights comin on and I need an 'Exhaust Gas Circulation Valve' and it's gonna cost me a further $350, HELP! -Is this a load of bollocks or what?

Fitted a new engine?!?! What for? Surely just skimming the head would be as drastic as could happen? What engine was it? If the engine is re-conditioned, just spraying it with carb cleaner should sort it out. Doubt it will need a whole new EGR.

They took the engin 'apart' to repair thr gasket and they said they found oil leakage mixed with the water, also the pistons were slightly shakeing, hence the new engine!
So spraying the EGR with carb cleaner should sort it out?

Just got off the phone to Vauxhall parts Dept. They said the part alone costs $200!
Also been told it can be by passed, isn't it needed then?

Hmm i dont think it is needed really, you can go without and release a few extra HP at the same time. Its bollocks that a new engine was needed, it just needed a re-worked head and new piston rings. Did you pay for the engine?if so, how much?

the max you should pay out for head gasket fix from vauxhall is £500. Mine went last year i paid just under £300, that included parts and labour and the head skimmed.I thought mine was expensive. I took mine to a private garage. I can't believe they would charge £2k what the fu*ck are they doing, talk to them and ask them what exactly are they doing and the actual costs etc before they totally rip u off mate.
