I want to have a nice blue glow on drivers and passengers side footwells, i need tw neons for each side but dont know which to get, ive seen two max power versions, one tube and one flexible version, also halfords have got some, Prism i think they are called, Has anyone done the above what do you recommend i use????

i did it but in green. i got 2 12" tubes from speeding.co.uk for £15.00 each, spliced one into the other and ran it off the Cig lighter.

got 2 autoleads 6 inch ones. £10 for the pair. even come with a beat detecter, lol.
wired em up to a permanent live and earth so they dont have that gay plug on them. look quite good, infact i like em so much i have more for the back and boot

12"! Thats quite large! Have you any picks and does it look good? What would you recommend, splicing two neons together or getting a multi cig plug adapter?

I'm planning on putting one under the hand brake, cause there's a bit of carpet there doing nothing. Dunno how wank it'll look though...

well here is wat happened. i got one put it under the drivers side.. looks spot on got a second one! they looked ace!! wen u opened the door everythink shone! was quality!! anyway i got a bit to silly and put then under the bonnet at the front.. looked good to till i went for a trip down the road hit a puddle soaked em not worked since.!!! I wired them up to the batt and ran a switch under the drivers seat so i can turn them on and off we i pleased.

another piece of advice for everyone. before you fit the neons, cover the area its attaching too with that silver foil sticky tape, it reflects much more of the light downwards hence they look a lot better

Na, i aint got MSN. Cheers for that Kris, i dont know what to do, ive just had a look at the size of the plug that goes into the cig lighter, they are huge, any ideas hiw im gonna hide these?

wire the earth on the neons into the earth wire going into the back of the ciggie lighter, and wire the live upto the permanant live going to the headunit, then hide all the wires and put the switch inside the ashtray. thast what i did all hiden away apart from when u open the ashtray there is the sound sensor box and switch.

good idea, i just put my switch under my seat. but i suppose the ashtray was a good idea, what switch did u use?

That sounds like a good plan but im useless when it comes to electrics, cant even change a fuse in a plug! Ive got a corsa B.

i bought 2x 6" green tubes (£8each)
designed for computer use, but gonna see if they will work with the 12v car battery.
i'm gonna basically wire the tubes to a perminant live + switch..
don't know if one will light up the footwell enough.
