i was just checking if the spark plugs were ok in my car, when i put them back in and started up, the car was sort of juddering and wen i hit the accelerater it seemed to judder and slowly rev up,took for a spin and their wasnt as much power as usual!!!
checked spark plug n one of them had a crack in the centre, the bit thats not metal!!! is this the problem???
also topped the engine up with oil i used a 10-40w gtx semi-synthetic magnatec, But the oil in their already is a 15-40 gtx non synthetic!! will this cause any problem???
please help guys

you should never mix different oil types for a start!! Magnatec is utter tosh anyway. standard vauxhall oil is just fine.did you tighten the plugs up to the correct amount?

Change the cracked plug for sure. If that white stuff goes into your engine it aint going to be good.
Could be the problem, check all the leads etc.

isit really worth changing the oil??? coz my car is drinking a lot of oil, give it 2 weeks and it will probly be down to half way!! i think the valve stem seals are gone coz oil is getting into cylinders 2 and 4???
shall i still change it?? or shall i take to a garage first to see what they say???

if i was you, i'd just buy new oil and filter, and new spark plugs, your only looking at £30 for a piece of mind.
Most oils these days are multigrade so they should mix ok, but i still wouldnt try it myself.

I would change the oil and filter with standard vauxhall stuff, change the spark plug and put new valve stem oil seals in,none of them are really a big job.new plug £3,oil £15, filter £4, top end gasket kit £20.£42 in all and should run sweet as a nut!

I used 15w-40 magnatec about 6 months back, car ran like a bag of nails, so i just put standard GTX in and it was much happier.
