was racing a vts in my astra last nite. standing start at the lights, he just kept pulling away, no way was i gonna catch him. was this saxo tuned? or is this normal.

eventually caught up with the little bugger on the motorway, and it was only past 90mph when i showed him up, but needless to say, i am still V. angry!! help b4 i fall into a mindless state of depression.

you are probably about the same bhp is yours tuned at all and his car will be lighter as its smaller

my mate has a vts with a 421 manifold, btb full zorst system and a green forced air induction kit and its fast as fuck about 150 bhp

saxo will have you all the time off the lights.i used to get pissed on even in my veccy gsi of the lights

Yes the Saxo will be a fair bit faster. Your Astra is probably only marginally quicker than my Corsa.

I doubt 30bhp is possible from these mods

An Astra GSi Turbo would nail a VTS to the floor before making it eat dust. But then again, we are comparing a hot supermini to a hot hatch.

cams and head work would probably see around the 150 mark yes.

i think it takes it up to 170bhp cause thats what the kit is(170 kit) called somewhere in scotland

i would say thats normal mate, their light cars fairly powerful engines, i wouldnt attempt to rae a vts, would give a vtr a go though

Sorry to have to say this but a saxo vts with exhaust manifold and induction kit would probably be near 150 bhp, they respond very well to such mods.

Youi doubt, but its true. The 16v lumps respond very well to a good air filter unit and full exhaust system. I've seen many a saxo on the Rollers with these mods or similar (different makes) make 145-155bhp.
