Right,

I wanna spray my Rocker cover on my car, not just the little crappy bit alot of people have painted, but the whole lot,

I have a spare one coming to me on monday, however under the rocker cover is it the engine right there? anyone got any pics of one?

What tools do i need to take it off, is it a job safe for me to do?

Cheers

Pete

Daimo,

under the rocker, is it directly onto the cams?

will their be oil under it?

Its just the one im getting is off another car, thus the oil might be different

etc etc

does this matter?

Look at the picture erquest post in gen chat for 2.0 16v Corsas. I've put a pic of D4s engine in there. Bascially, once u've removed all bolts, and prised it off it'll come off in one go. Cams will be exposed underneath. I've covered mine with a rag. There wont be any oil stored in the cam cover. Its just to keep it in (i.e so there might b a drip, nothign to worry about).

There will be no gasket to replace and no oil under the cover, it is purely for cosmetic purposes. Undo the bolts holding it on, probably allen headed screws on yours. The cover will be held on with rubber bungs, simply lift it up from the engine. Its perfectly safe to drive without the cover in place.

No point on your cc engine, wont make any real difference. 1.2 dont generate that much heat anyway.

Can be cleaned out yeah, just make sure its perfectly dry before putting it back in. Just use warm water also.

I think your both talking of different things here. I think Painz wants to remove and paint the plastic cover, unless I'm wrong
