I realise that every second thread on this forum is probably the same as this one. I PM'd a user on here from another forum and he advised me to come on here and get more information off everyone cos that is where he got all his info from.
What I need to know is what do I need ? Preferably a list...
I currently have a 1.4 8v Hi-Torq engine, so I will need fuel lines as it is a single pointer. My brakes and suspension will be fine to support the XE but I will be upgrading again to some coilovers and 4 pots as well after it is in.
Obviously I will need an engine and gearbox. Am I better getting one of those kits from PVD or is it possible to do without it ? The guy who will be doing the conversion has done one before. Do I need to weld any of the engine bay ?
Thank You.

The SFI box on the C20XE is too big to fit in the corsa engine bay, so you can either replace it with a powercap from people like cossvaux which required cutting the bulkhead, or use the induction pipe off the ecotec engine, which requires no cutting and also gives a small bhp increase (as does the power cap)
You can do the conversion without a fitting kit, but it means you have to fabricate the parts yourself. I think my fitting kit wasa bout £480 from cossvaux.
Coilovers will be a great improvement, but make sure you specify the 2 litre springs.

I have found a fitting kit in an old Total Vauxhall for £575, it includes:
Induction Kit;
A full set of engine and gearbox mounts;
Motorsport driveshaft and hub kit;
Fitting guide and wiring diagram;
Intake Box to replace SFi box;
New Fastening for Front anti-roll bars.
Lets say I bought this kit, would that mean I would only have to get an Engine, F20 box and fuel lines ?

I assume cooling will also be a big problem if you sit idle for a minute, so will I need a bigger radiator off something bigger ?
And what fuel lines, etc will I need ? Considering the engine will be a MPi.

i did the same conversion 1.4i -> 2.0 16v.
you will need an mpi fuel pump, it sits in the tank under the rear seat £30 from a scrapyard. any tigra pump or a corsa mpi will do.fuel line are fine.
you will need 2.0 16v brakes rather than the 1.4 8v ones, they will be well below par to stop a valver.
i've had various suspension setups on mine, koni shox with koni springs,eibach springs,courtenay 2.0 springs. in the end i fitted fk highsport coilovers and am very pleased with the handling now (it handles nice and isn't to harsh).
lee mitchell can supply the front engine mount and antiroll bar spacers.
i got my driveshafts from justcorsa's as they don't need different hubs.
standard rad should be up to the job, you will need a turbodiesel header tank though (it has an extra connection).

OK, going to start to buy all my stuff in now... And should hopefully be kicking things off pretty soon, as soon as I can get shot of my wheels and buy smaller ones.
So first point of call is;
MPi Fuel Pump and TDi Header tank. Obviously will need oil filter, plugs and stuff too.
Will post back here after I have got my shit together.
P.S. I currently have Vectra callipers, will these be fine ? As far as I am aware, they came off a 1.8 Veccy. The discs are vented and grooved with EBC Greenstuff pads. Will these be suitable for the time being ? (Support the engine) Until I get round to upgrading them again ?
P.P.S Also have lowering springs, will they do the job for just now as well before going to for Coilovers (DAMN GUY ON OTHER FORUM BEAT ME TO BUYING A SET) ?
Thanks again.
P.P.P.S How do you go about ordering stuff off of Cossvaux ? Do you need a credit card and stuff ? Cos I haven't got one.

BTW - buy Genuine Vauxhall wheel bearing for the fronts.
Itd also be worth doing timing belt/rollers and waterpump if you dont know the history of the engine. Also the thermostat.
