I have got a 1.4 Corsa B Sport 16v and I'm Part Ex to get a 1.2 Corsa C 16v

My current bad 1.4 has around 87bhp and the new smooth 1.2 Corsa C have around 74 BHP which is not much difference. What the best way to increase the performance as I cant afford allot and I have to keep my car for another 2 years till I finish uni, and want my new car to be similar as my 1.4, I know its always going to be lower but every little bit counts, and as its a newer car it runs allot smoother than my 96 N 1.4 Corsa B.

My New Corsa:-

This is the Newer Model but still its the same colour as my one

  1. 2002 Corsa C Comfort (Colour Scarab)
  2. Electric Windows
  3. Electric Door Mirrors
  4. Air Conditioning
  5. Double Din Tape Player Unit <<< will replace soon, not shore with what tho as I live in V.High crime area.
  6. Remote Central Locking
  7. Steering wheel stereo controls
  8. 14000 miles <<< Low Millage for the year I think
  9. 3-door hatch
  10. Twin air bags
  11. Power steering
  12. Anti theft system
  13. Might be more but not shore yet

Is this a good buy for 5000 with my current 1.4 Corsa B part exchange for 2000 (I payed 1700 for it in January), and is this spec normal for a comfort as Vauxhall have changed the names on the face lift...

    thanx in advance...

??? 1996 thats an old car I don't want old cars no more plus I get very cheep Vauxhall parts as my Uncle is a General manager going to all garages in west London and make shore there up to standard...

SRi-Co
your corsa is a Corsa B, I like the Corsa C and there allot better going down the motorway, and power stirring, plus @ 2 years old there is very unlikely any thing go wrong with the engine and only have to change the cam shaft @ 40K miles I'm on 14K

My plan is to keep this one new one for 2 years and maybe add styling like Lights and wheels and ICE that can all be changed back after the two years and place them on a 1.8 SXI after I finish Uni and get me a job...

But i did read this
quote:

But the chassis copes better with small engines than the range-topping 1.8 SRi. As a hot hatch, the SRi understeer too much and, unsurprisingly, there is no throttle oversteer to play with. Steering feel could be a bit artificial for a driver car. The 123 hp power plant also lacks punch and eagerness (thanks to slow throttle response) to match rivals like 206 GTi.

hopfully they make a Corsa C VXR...

Don't do anything to the engine or the car other than a panel filter and maybe a sensible backbox.

You're only keeping the car for two years - you'll get better resale value if you don't ruin it with plastic tat bodywork, rag it to death after fitting noisy induction kits and exhausts and make the car rattle by fitting lowering kits and alloys.

It's a 1.2 Corsa C. Not any car that can really benefit from "tuning". Admittedly it needs a lot of styling because they're wank as standard, but you'd need to fabricate new bodypanels to disguise the C.

I'm not going to add a body kit because that makes less of a market for them as if its got a induction kit and a performance exhaust it wont change much, i did not say I was going to lower it, also induction kits can be taken of its just an air-filter MOD...

and I don't understand your last paragraph?

also to any one that has a Corsa C the courtesy light in the middle next to the two reading lights is there meant to be 2 as the one on the passengers side dose not lite up just wanted to know if its a bulb or not meant to be one?

Yes, the standard airbox can be retro-fitted, but once you fit an induction kit and performance exhaust, you'll start to drive the car like it's a sports car, or at least try to.

Stick with the standard setup.

I'll rephrase the last paragraph, I was trying to be kind before...

The Corsa C looks fucking ugly. The only way you can make it look half decent is by replacing every single god-awful panel.

The Corsa C drives better because it hasn't been modified and is brand new.

Where is the sense in buying a car knowing full well that you want to sell it on in a couple of years and that you have plans to modify it already.

If you're that concerned with the miserable 1.2 engine, then don't plan to modify it, get a BIGGER ENGINE.

most mods I wanted like lights and wheels can be trasplated to anouther car, but induction kits are not that much money just wanted to know if it would help with performace a little...

also how much dose the Silver Center consoles go for and are they easy to fit... (note: I have A/C)
