midway through c20xe into gsi conversion.
just stuck the c20 in wstill with the gear linkage from the donor calibra.
wasn't sure if it was the 2ltr linkage or the corsa linkage that needs to be extended.
cheers

should mention its probably easyer to shave the lip off the rear engine mount and then streng on the inside of the mount for,,, then there no need to entend the linkage....

you have got to use all of the corsa linkage and the 2 corsa gearbox mounts that will have come off of your old engine, then you need to extend the bit with the ball joints on which is a u shape into a straigt and the bar across the top, but if you use the method sudgested above nothing needs extending just use an angle grinder to grind a lip off of the back gearbox mount so that it sits flush on the gearbox and then the linkage will all meet up fine i did this last week and has worked fine for me. if you need any other help just u2u me.

just checked on mig and they say the spacer should stay as it keeps the diff central, so that you don't lose the shaft out of one side and the other side dooesn't wear out prematurely.

I'd agree... To shift the WHOLE lot 15mm instead of extending the linkage...

just that bit?
that's the f20 linkage though, and you need to use the f15 item where that part is plastic.
cheers for the pic though.
problem at the moment is trhat the linkage fouls the bulkhead when you try to pull back into second or fourth.

could be wrong here but to the best of my knowledge u can use the original equipment from what ever corsa yer using ... u just need to extend that piece above or u can go with shaving the rear engine mount.
probably better the ask beardy or LM... i'm only going on what ive learned and seen. havent actually done a conversion yet.

You need to get the linkage off of a Nova. They use metal linkages which can be extended....

why not all you are doing is removing a small lip from one side and replacing it on the other side and not removing the origional strenghthening plates put in by vauxhall and as the weld is over spread over a larger area on the other side is now stronger than before and also by extending the linkage you increase the flex in the arm making it more likely to break in the future

^ but what there saying is that it might have the effect for moving the whole engine and gear box to one side if the engine bay

was just thinking this
TBH id say the shaving the bit on the engine mount would be more reliable.... i reckon the linkage could keep snaping all the time were u weld it.

your going on a week? corsaandy, very naive view, i've met and talked to people who think something that lasts a week will last forever, months down the line they have a laugh and joke about it and reminiss the time when they never listened.
anyway welcome to the 2litre corsa club
