Ive got a 2000 1.6 sport and want to buy some lowering spings and shockers to lower the car 40mm(i dont want 60mm before anyone says it).
Im looking to spend around £200 and want my car to look nice and level without going too low, has anyone got any suggestions or pictures of their car on 16's with -40mm kit.
Thanks

so are pi.
then again, so are all set-ups that are under £300ish. if i were you id get some eibach springs as you can use these with your standard shocks for a while without them giving up. the ride quality is fantastic and hanling is massively improved over standard. ive got a full eibach set up on my 1.4 sport. sits at about -45 front, -30 rear:

Ive been told that using standard shockers with lowered/uprated springs can cause a miss-match and give some entertaining handling.
Im looking at these at the moment
GMAX -40mm is £ 209.00
SPAX VSX-40mm £212
APEX Sport-40mm £220
Anyone got any of these?

i have run a few cars without using shocks and it does improve the handling to standard
im a fan of spax used them a few times
apex are still good but definately not gmax spend the extra and get alot more for your money

i hope u looking forward to a bouncy ride if your just changing the springs. i use to have the g-max -40mm on my 1.6 sport and all i can say is 'dangerous' when u pick some speed up and u enter bumpy roads

iv got judst springs- the ride is miles better than standard wud recommend to any1 on budget. To any one else i wud recommend coilovers - shocks and springs just dont cut it when u can get the best suspension money can buy for only a ton more - 25£ per corner and its worth it esp if u want it dropped.

so you are saying that coilovers are better for an everyday car than a decent suspension set-up???
show me a decent coilover kit for under £400!

surely coilovers only benefit by being adjustable?
corsa808, how much did your Eibach spings/shockers set you back and where did you get them?

so do you reckon its just saying the drop will be less on some cars cos they are slightly lower as standard?. I still would expect the part numbers to be the same.
