Opened up me oil cap and there was about half an inch on froffy coffee (it was thick)
there is also the same kinda gunk on the dipstip!
HELP
head gasket gone or worse??

open your water cap, run the engine, if it bubbles your head gasket is gone!

if its in water could be lucky on just being gasket change which if you know somone who can do cars will whip one on for not too much

do you do a lot of short journeys??if you do that could cause it take your breather pipe of and clean that out to.as said above run your engine with the header tank cap off.

if its the 1.2 8v its piss easy i done one in my nova in half a day. although ive got a torque wrench and my dad can skim heads!

i got a quote from a cheap garage for about £350 to change a head gasket.
i did it for less than £50, that includes
new head gasket kit,bolts etc. oil and oil filter. if u decide to do it. make sure u put it back together properly and get ur timing correct, otherwise worse things will happen!

Put a post for any mechanics near new market that are willing to do it for you probably look at 170 eveything pordived and fitted properly then you know your safe
